6 months of various happenings. The hide is coming back to its typical busy schedule after a quiet period since the severe floods in January

A flood like no other left Umgede Hide 1.16m underwater, chairs, cushions and other equipment was found floating around inside. A massive clean up operation would begin once the water subsides and the camp was accessible

Its feat or famine Africa, and that was what it felt like at Antares for elephants sightings. September was quiet by our standards but October was back in full strength, along with a good dose of cats as well

Spring is in the air, guests abound, as do wildlife sightings, birds and reptiles too.

Antares Bush Camp is extremely proud of the marketing video that Mel produced and was awarded a Silver Medal at the recent ITFFA awards in Sandton.

Hard work, commitment and media skills by Mel have resulted in Antares Bush Camp & Umgede Hide being nominated as a finalist in the ITFFA awards for 2025.
